The ceiling fan and light is operated by a remote (on the wall by the bed) but the switch on the wall next to it must be turned on. The switch by the window is for the porch light.

The A/C is also a heat pump. The remote is on the wall by the bed. The MODE button can be used to switch between Cool, Heat and Auto (goes back and forth between heat and cool to maintain temp. Usually not the best option but can be handy in the Spring when outside temps don’t vary as much.)

Press the circular button up and down to alter the temperature to suit you.

The TV is a smart TV with many streaming services uploaded. Feel free to use your home password, or take advantage of the free streaming services Tubi, News, and Fire TV Free, or YouTube.

It is advised to sign out before you leave to avoid unauthorized charges from future guests, but I try to reset most when I clean, so let me know if you forget.

The TV mount can be adjusted.

The cabins are pretty quiet, but we provide earplugs in the bathroom if you want a silent night.

Space is tight but the luggage rack by the bed and the two rolling baskets underneath the bed are for your use.

If you are preparing for an event, there is a hairdryer, an iron, and a small ironing board under the bed in the rolling baskets.

If you have any trouble with the auto lock and unlock, try pulling or pushing the handle slightly. The weather stripping on new doors can make them misalign with the strike plate.

If this doesn’t work for you, call us and we will bring you a good old-fashioned key.

The vent fan has a humidity sensor switch that will turn it on automatically if the humidity rises (crucial in metal containers.) It can always be overridden by pressing the wall switch. If you use this switch to turn it on manually, it will turn off after about 20 mins.

The water in the shower and sink is from Burnet municipal and is stored in a UV preventive tank. It is safe to drink but we will always provide bottled spring water for the coffee maker and drinking. Check the fridge for extra bottles.

The hot water tank contains 30 gallons of very hot water which should be plenty for two average length showers.

The common seating area is lit by solar lights that may turn off early if we have a less sunny day.

The cabinet by the tree is full of cooking utensils, etc. and the chest behind the chairs has pillows and blankets for outdoors.

There is a hose behind the cabin and one-use fire extinguishers under the sink in the cabin and in the cabinet by the firepit, in case you need them.

The rocket stove is a unique stove/barbecue that uses only wood kindling to cook a quick meal or roast some smores. It is allowed during burn bans.

If you have any trouble getting it lit, give us a call; our best advice is to feed sticks no thicker than your thumb (in a crate just off the deck) into the angled tube only, then use a fire starter (located under the kitchen sink and contains no chemicals) and a long lighter to start.

The flames will shoot out of the top, hence the name, so be careful under the trees. Please do not use charcoal in the rocket stoves.
